5 Reasons Why There is Dental Phobia

By: chimmychan

If the same thing will happen to me, I will hate the experience and will not visit a dentist anymore.

2.Unpleasant experience. When I was in my cousin's dental clinic, she received a phone call from one of her patients saying that she's not going back again and see my cousin's friend. Also a dentist, for another tooth extraction since she was helpless for a week having her mouth in bad pain.According to that patient my cousin's friend is careless.
3.Anxiety related to comtemplated dental visit. My aunt who is a dentist regularly visits our place when I was younger.Whenever my mother tells me that my aunt will check my teeth for tartar buildup, I would always end up crying.Whenever I see my aunt going over her dental tools
asking me to sit down and behave, I would feel more anxious.I do not know what to do but to run into my room and lock myself inside the room.
4.The ambiance in dental clinics. What do you feel
whenever you see needles and drills?Even adults are quivering upon seeing those.Again, instances are when we were younger and see dentist's tools and injections we will hide until our mom says "Honey, come out dentist is gone".These dental equipment will even haunt us everywhere we go especially when seeing a dental clinic.

5.Limited knowledge about dental procedures. When we experience toothache and swollen gums, we would say that we do not have the best dentist in town.We often end up hating our dentists for causing us so much pain during a particular dental procedure. Each patient should have the knowledge regarding the prescribed dental treatment.
